NEW BEDFORD -- Gladys May (Chace) King, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997, at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the widow of Owen King and daughter of the late George L. and Lily (Baron) Chace. Born in New Bedford, Mrs. King lived for the past 35 years in Fairhaven. She worked for Continental Elastic for 15 years before retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Fairhaven and of the Oxford Senior Citizens, Friends of the Elderly at Oxford and Fairhaven Golden Agers. Survivors include two sons, Donald O. King of Ureka Springs, Ark. and Robert E. King of Toledo, Ohio; a brother, Harold C. Chace of New Bedford; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by the Fairlawn Mortuary, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven.
