Kempf, Howard R.
"Howard R. Kempf, 55, of Warrington Street, Providence, a retired machinist, died May 13, 2004, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Born in Providence, a son of Mary K. (Baggesen) Kempf of Providence, and the late Francis H. Kempf, he had lived in Warwick for 15 years before returning to Providence in 1988.
Mr. Kempf had been a machinist at Federal Products for 17 years before retiring in 2002.
He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War, a past commander of the Cahill VFW Post, and a member of the William Shields American Legion Post.
Besides his mother, he leaves two sons, Robert J. Kempf of Providence and Stephen D. Kempf of Warwick; a daughter, Dawn M. Kempf of Warwick; two brothers, John F. Kempf of Scituate and Francis H. Kempf Jr. of Providence; three sisters, Mary Gliottone of Coventry, Suzanne DeSimone of Warwick and Kathleen M. Ouellette of Coventry; and four grandchildren. He was the father of the late Michael E. Kempf.
The funeral service was held in Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial with military honors was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter."
