William accompanied his parents to America, in 1630. He removed with his fatherŁus family to Yarmouth, in 1638, and died there, February 27, 1685. He was a prominent resident of the town, but took no active part in civic affairs. They were the parents of eight children.
It is said that he was a drummer boy from 24 Aug to 2 Sept. 1645 in "Myless Standish's Co." which fought against the Narangansett Indians. He received an extra fee of 5s. for his service.
He was of record before the Plymouth General Court on 6 Mar 1654/55: "WilliamChase Junr. for goeing into the house of Richard Berry, and taking away byviolence a p'cell of flax and a smale p'cell of hose yarne, was sentenced tositt in the stockes an houre on a training day att Yarmouth". He lived near Hering River, on the east side of Bass River, in that part of
Yarmouth which is now either Dennis or Harwick. On June 2, 1685 settlement ofhis estate was ordered by the General Court.
