Gloria A. Brotherton, 70, of Hill Farm Road, died June 9, 2009 at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late James T. Brotherton. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Salvatore and Jennie (Izzi) Pellegrino, she lived in North Providence and Warwick before moving to Coventry. She is survived by her two daughters, Maryann Medberry and her husband, Paul, with whom she lived, and Jennifer Rose Burton of Corpus Christi, Texas; her grandson, Matthew P. Medberry of Coventry; and her two sisters, Saveria Beaulieu and Antonette Forte, both of Providence. She was the mother of the late Raymond J. Brotherton and sister of the late John Pellegrino and Filomenia Izzo. Her family is remembering her as a caring and loving person who always was thinking of others. She loved to read and enjoyed family get-togethers. Her funeral will be held June 12 at 8 a.m. from Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in SS. John & Paul Church, 341 South Main St., Coventry, at 9 a.m. Calling hours are June 11 from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Anns Cemetery, Cranston.
