He was a baker, and the establishment founded by him has been deservedly famous for its gingerbread, &c, to the present time. In 1794, he bought land in North Providence and in 1805, 1810 and 1811, he and wife Elizabeth sold land. In 1819, his widow, Lydia, desired that administration on the estate might be given to his son, James Weeden, Jr. This family of Pawtucket Weedens should not be confounded with that of the late John Hull Weeden.
