He lived in Providence and Portsmouth, and received a share of Westerly, but probably did not live there. He purchased land in Portsmouth as early as July 8, 1668, and was a member of the court marshal at Newport, August 24, 1676, to try Indians. In 1664 he was made a freeman of the Rhode Island Colony, and in 1684 was ordained pastor of the baptist church at Dartmouth, Massachusetts, where he died in 1713. He married Rebecca, daughter of John Harndel, born 1633, died 1713, and had a second wife Sarah.
